Tapeworms are hermaphroditic animals. This means that they have both male and female reproductive organs. They are held in the segments of the worms body called proglottids. The worm finds another and they cross inseminate each other's eggs. Then the proglottids containing the fertilized eggs will drop off of the worms body and release zygotes. the zygotes are then released onto the ground when the host defecates. Eventually another animal will come by and eat the feces. the zygotes will then grow in that host and start the cycle all over again.
